Every summer Rachel Zoe and I host a special shopping day at my Almont store to benefit a cause very close to my heart - Baby2Baby. Baby2Baby, run by my friends Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein, provides Los Angeles families in need with baby gear for their children. They supply baby essentials such as diapers, strollers and clothing to over 50,000 low-income children in Los Angeles each year. This year we were honored to have one of the beauty collections that we carry in the store - Santa Maria Novella – co-host the event with us. We raised a lot of money for Baby2Baby and the event was really fun and beautiful. Here are some of the details of the day.
Kid’s Activities
Coloring & Herb Planting
I fenced off the parking lot to the store and had lots of great treats and activities for the little ones while their moms shopped. This year, we set up some kids’ tables under the umbrellas with burlap table clothes and had a fun coloring table and herb planting station. Claudia Bruce of Indigo Mood Gardens brought beautiful organic mint, rosemary, thyme and lavender and showed the kids how to properly plant the herbs and take care of them. She finished each pot off by wrapping it in burlap and putting each child’s name on cute wooden rulers. The kids loved it and Tanner planted one of each. They look great in our backyard.
Tattoos
Inside we had an awesome airbrush tattoo station set up and everyone could get tattoos or glitter tattoos of their favorite things, all done by Erica of Fortune Entertainment. Tanner came home with stars up one arm and I even saw some adults sitting in the tattoo chair.
Treats
Pressed Juicery & Pop Shop
Pressed Juicery had their amazing juice truck stay for the day and everyone enjoyed their fresh and healthy juices. My friend Kimberly turned me onto the Pop Shop’s amazing popsicles when Tan was a baby and I’ve been hooked ever since. Emily, the owner, makes handmade popsicles with organic sugar or agave and seasonal farmers’ market finds - they're all-natural. All of the kids and adults loved them and the Lavender Lemon and Lemon Basil pops were the most popular.
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella provided gift bags that were filled with their Rose Water or Potpourri - two of my absolute favorites. It's such a beautiful, classic company and I love everything they produce. Everyone had a great time shopping, eating, and enjoying all the activities in effort to raise money for a truly amazing cause. XXJKE
