Garden Party: Decor

06/21/2014

Our garden party was a beautiful success – from menu to decor, it felt like the perfect late spring soiree. As mentioned, I was thrilled to co-host with Eye Swoon's amazing Athena Calderone and partner with One Kings Lane for some of the design elements for the day, and couldn't have been happier with the results.

The Tables

To begin, I used one of my go-to folding tables, draped with a custom Rachel Craven flax linen tablecloth with gold stitching down the center, accented with a yellow washed linen tablecloth from Terrain on top. Around the table, I used theme-perfect bentwood chairs with white painted feet from Yeah! Rentals.

To set the table, I used my new Variopinte enamel plates and bowls in white and mint, which just came in at my Montecito Home store, and my favorite mismatched antique flatware. And, as the perfect floral accent, Liberty Print napkins that we made using the fabric from my Pre-Fall Collection, topped with sweet and simple floral wristlets that our guests could wear and take home.

For glassware, we used Villeroy & Boch vintage glasses from One Kings Lane as well as stemless Spanish wine glasses from my Montecito store. And for our wine, a pair of Pinched Glass Decanters, also from One Kings Lane.

On the serving table, we placed several terracotta water pitchers from Bitters Co., also available at my new store, as well as two small beautiful, rustic Best Before Baskets, to hold the silverware.

The Flowers

For our florals, the amazing Kristen of Moon Canyon Design made the loveliest arrangements, perfect for the theme. She created a summer garden centerpiece composed of wild blueberry, cafe au lait dahlias, white ball dahlias, astilbe, scabiosa, chocolate cosmos, sunflowers, blushing bride protea, peonies, and hosta leaves, with a low stone compote for the vessel.

In vintage glass Belgian jars scattered throughout, she displayed peonies, astilbe, and dahlias. And on the serving table, placed bundles of variegated hydrangea in a Wicker Pool Basket from One Kings Lane. XXJKE
