I’ve always been drawn to all things Native American - great turquoise jewelry, moccasins, dream catchers, and especially Tepees. I fell in love with Kate Hudson’s Vogue shoot with Chris Robinson years ago and have been Tepee obsessed ever since.
When I found out I was pregnant with a little boy, I knew I wanted a great Tepee as the centerpiece of his room. I found a great 6ft Tepee from Great Plains and hung a Dream Catcher from it. After I was hooked, as always, one wasn’t enough. When Tanner was a baby I bought the real deal- a gorgeous outdoor Tepee from White Buffalo Lodges and put it in our backyard for the summer. It looked great and he loved it but once the summer was over and the grass beneath it had died, I pulled it up and stored it in the garage.
Later, for Tanners 2nd birthday, I bought a larger 12ft Tepee from Great Plains for his Cowboy and Indians birthday party and it now lives in our playroom. I hung leftover streamers that Jihan from Geronimo made on it, along with a Neon Dream Catcher from Kimmel Kids. Lots of my friends have great Tepees for their kids as well and I love seeing all the different versions and accessories on them. Here are a couple of other tepees that I've seen around...
